Medalist Golf Club

Established in 1995, Medalist Golf Club is a private, 18-hole golf course located in Hobe Sound, Florida. The course was co-designed by golf legend Greg Norman and renowned architect Pete Dye, offering a challenging layout that reflects and enhances its natural surroundings. In 2015, the course underwent renovations led by architect Bobby Weed to update and refine its design.

Medalist Golf Club is known for its exclusivity and has a reputation as a home club for prominent golfers, including Greg Norman and Tiger Woods. In 2013, it was reported that over 20 PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players were members, highlighting its status within the professional golf community.

The course itself measures approximately 7,571 yards from the championship tees, with a par of 72. It boasts a course rating of 77.9 and a slope rating of 155, indicating a formidable challenge for even the most skilled golfers. The design incorporates the natural landscape, featuring native pines, sandhills, marshes, and abundant wildlife, providing a serene yet demanding golfing experience.

In addition to its golfing facilities, the club offers amenities such as a clubhouse and practice areas, catering to the needs of its members. Membership is highly exclusive, with initiation fees reported to be over $100,000, reflecting its status as a premier golfing destination.

Medalist Golf Club has also been a venue for notable events, including hosting “The Match: Champions for Charity” in May 2020, where teams featuring Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning competed against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. This event attracted nearly six million viewers, making it one of the most-watched golf events in history.
